What is mind/body medicine?

Mind/Body Medicine is a non medical approach to health and healing that honors the connection between the mind, brain and body. Mind/Body medicine harnesses the power of an individual's thoughts, attention, somatic (body) awareness, and emotions to positively influence health, thereby tapping into the natural healing force within each person. Mind/body medicine is based on the recognition of the body's innate healing potential, and the partnership of patient and facilitator in restoring the body to health.

Many chronic illnesses, pain conditions physical and emotional difficulties, etc.. are caused or exacerbated by excessive stress, negative thoughts, trapped emotions, erroneous beliefs, imbalanced perceptions, poor lifestyle choices, or other factors outside of our awareness.

The mind/body skills group (MBSG) will give you many tools to remove blockages, decrease stress, and balance your brain and nervous system. Learn to take charge of your health and well-being and improve resilience. The MBSG integrates both "top down" (mind/body) and "bottom up" (body/mind) approaches.

You will learn mind/body practices including, mindfulness, imagery, movement, energy balancing, and brain integration exercises to help you remove blocks, decrease stress, and balance your body and nervous system to create positive change in all areas of you life.

This is a wellness model. We do not focus on diseases or problems. We give clients tools to help them balance the effects of stress as well as access self-healing resources to improve, health, wellness, and vitality. It is important to note, that many of the stressors that are affecting us are outside of our awareness, compromising our immune systems and overall health. 

The program is ideal for wellness centers, hospitals, integrative medical practices, and individuals who want to take an active role in their health, healing, and overall well-being. This is not a substitute for medical care but rather a powerful adjunct.

This class will teach you essential skills for relieving the stress that contributes to chronic illnesses such as: chronic pain conditions, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, cancer, heart disease, anxiety, depression, PTSD, cancer. heart disease,  and asthma.
