Walter Blick is a New York State licensed massage therapist, licensed occupational therapist, and certified craniosacral therapist with a diverse background in the areas of health, wellness, and body/mind healing. After completing a master's degree in occupational therapy and exploring different areas in the field, he went on to study various forms of advanced manual therapy and other holistic modalities that focused on the whole person. He was fortunate enough to study with many great teachers and innovators in the field of manual therapy. He completed extensive studies in a variety of innovative therapies including: craniosacral therapy/somatoemotional release (CST) with the Upledger Institute, myofascial release (MFR) with John F. Barnes PT, and Biodynamic craniosacral therapy with Michael Shea, PhD. He has taken additional post graduate classes in visceral manipulation and somatic experiencing.
An understanding of energy medicine is fundmental to treating the whole person, Walter has studied and practiced many energy modalities. He is currently studying Energy Kinesiology (PKP) with the International Academy of Healing Arts. All of these modalities continue to inform his work and enhance treatment of the whole person.
Walter has worked with both adults and children in a variety of settings including: wellness centers, schools, hospital rehabilitation, home - based therapy, and an integrative medical center. He is a New York State certified early intervention (birth-3 ) therapist with undergraduate degrees in Health Sciences (BS) and Health Education (BA), a Master's degree (MS) in Occupational Therapy. Additionally, he has completed a 1000 - hour degree program in clinical Massage Therapy.
He is a former competitive boxer and martial arts instructor.
