Walter Blick is a NYS licensed occupational therapist, NYS licensed massage therapist, and certified craniosacral therapist, with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. He specializes in chronic health conditions, pain syndromes, and pediatric developmental challenges.
Walter has undergone extensive studies in advanced manual (hands-on) therapy based on the osteopathic philosophy including CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute, Visceral Manipulation through French osteopath Jean Pierre Barral's institute and Myofascial Release with John Barnes PT. He is a teaching assistant for the Upledger Institute.
Additionally, Walter completed a 2.5 year, 700 hour certification in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Michael Shea, PhD and advanced biodynamic trainings with Katherine Ukleja, DO and Roger Gilchrist, MA, RCST.
He completed a 3 year training in Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing (a brain/body approach for stress reduction and trauma resolution) and is a student of Stephen Porges's Polyvagal theory. These models inform his work with stress, trauma, and nervous system disorders. He is trained in various mind/body interventions and brain integration practices including: clinical meditation, imagery, EFT, specialized kinesiology, brain gym, and mindfulness.
Walter has worked as both an occupational therapist and massage therapist with people of all ages in a variety of settings and populations including: hospital rehabilitation, early intervention, schools, a multidisciplinary integrative medical center, and a pediatric sensory clinic. He has worked with adults with neurological and orthopedic conditions as well as children with developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, CP, and multiple handicaps.
